The Process BEFORE Sorenson's Patented System!

At the beginning of a typical job, we start by purchasing the needed materials. We shop for the hardware and materials including; 2x12 dough-fir #2 or better, tread-board, riser-board, nails, glue, and fasteners.

Once the proper materials are ordered and are on site, we contact our craftsmen to schedule the cut and installation of the stair-set.

O.S.H.A. requires that temporary hand-rails, which support a minimum of 250 lbs., be installed prior to construction or remodeling of any sort on a second story.

We then schedule a hand-rail installer to install the approved temporary rails in order to continue construction until the finished rail system is installed by the trim-carpenter.

Yet while we schedule the hand rail installer, we have to nail on a temporary rail to meet the need for safety until their arrival.

This completes the requirements of the industry for safety for the trades and the home owners during the course of the construction.

Now with the new patented system, only the installation is required, eliminating all of the above process, with installation in about 30 minutes. The system is ordered from our catalog, shipped to the site where it is installed as soon as the stair area is framed and leveled.

The material for the stringers are from structural engineered wood, which excels at handling heavy structural loads, is also a more sustainable choice, and it can deal with heavy stress.

This material is from fast growing weed trees - self regenerating aspen, poplar, maple, and other hardwoods.

The tread and riser are formed from carbon steel or recycled aluminum. We use sheet steel/aluminum and shear it to size and form our tread and risers on a press brake. Once formed, we assemble the product and shelve it until the order is placed for shipment.

The stairs arrive modular complete with temporary hand rails when required, eliminating the need for safety concerns during the building process.

So as one can see, with Sorenson Stair Systems the need for a craftsmen has been eliminated. These stairs require only basic tools for the installation process.

With the simplistic installation instructions, the average person can install this system with complete confidence.

NOW THAT IS STAIRS MADE SIMPLE!
